BA/MPhil in History - University of Cambridge

I spent four years at Cambridge, graduating with a double first in History and a Distinction in the American History MPhil. During that time, I served as the President of the Cambridge Union, the largest student society at the University. I am now training to be a barrister.

I have extensive experience in providing support for ambitious, academically engaged young people. As the founder of the Sutton Grammar Oxbridge History mentoring programme, I have helped tens of students to develop their interest in the discipline since 2015 – leading many to success at interview. I have tutored across the Humanities for the past few years, and also serve as a senior Scout Leader in one of Britain’s largest troops.

My teaching technique attempts to emulate that of a Cambridge supervisor – pushing beyond rote learning to generate a real understanding of the subject at hand. That necessitates a personal approach to each student and to each session. I am committed to maximising the potential of the young people I work with. There is nothing more satisfying to me than seeing one of my students achieve the goal which they have been striving to meet. My job is to help them to make that journey.
