Tanya - Cambridge

BA in Computer Science - University of Cambridge

Hi, my name is Tanya. I came from a school where nobody had got into Cambridge for as long as any of my teachers could remember, and now I am in my second year studying Computer Science at Fitzwilliam College. For this reason, I am very passionate about outreach; I wish to be able to help anyone who wants to apply feel they have a great application despite their background, and indeed, a student I mentored throughout their application to Cambridge received an offer in the 2021 admissions round.

The main reason I like to tutor is that I believe anyone who even considers applying to university definitely should. I would like to help remove barriers the student feels there may be - whether this be worries about the interview, or helping improve A-Level grades. As the only student to apply to Cambridge and to take Further Maths, I did a lot of self-teaching for the admissions test and for A-Levels, which has helped me to learn what the best approaches are for me to pass this on to my students. When I was applying to Cambridge I had many doubts, and I would like to be able to support students so they can move on to the next step in their lives with confidence.

In 2021, I started tutoring international students wishing to apply to top Universities in the UK, including admissions tutoring for Cambridge and subject tutoring. The methods I teach my students are tried and tested, because I tried many different things to work out how to prepare myself for admissions tests and interviews, and I now know what makes for the most effective approach.

If you have any questions about my experience, please feel free to contact me at support@doxa.co.uk
