Eloise - Oxford
BA in History - University of Oxford
Hi, my name is Eloise. I am a current second year undergraduate at Hertford College, Oxford, where I am reading History. Before Oxford, I took A Levels in History (A*), English Literature (A), and Politics (A), continuing a strong academic performance at GCSE, where I achieved 10 GCSEs all at an A/7 grade or above. I believe that achieving success in exams is about working out strategies and tactics to allow you to work smarter and hit the metrics needed to get the top grades. This is my major focus in tutoring, as well as aiming to instill confidence and encourage enjoyment of the subject.
I am very passionate about history, and have developed a particular interest in military history whilst at university. However, I have explored a wide range of topics in my education, from Norman Britain to Nazi Germany, allowing me to help with many areas and exam boards. I have experience tutoring A-Level History, which I found really rewarding. It's wonderful to see the growth in confidence and ability from students, and it's excellent to see that reflect in their grades, including taking a once struggling student to an A*. I'm also used to working with young people and prospective Oxford applicants through my work as a College Student Ambassador. Currently, I am JCR President at Hertford, so I'm very aware of the need for young people to balance their academia with personal growth, and view this as highly important.
I look forward to working with younger students and helping them flourish!
