Hello! My name is Shuborno, and I'm a recent graduate from Christ Church College, University of Oxford in Mathematics and Computer Science. I have a keen interest in the intersection of these subjects, particularly in areas such as Probability, Complex Analysis in Mathematics, and Quantum Information and Computational Complexity in Computer Science. Currently, I work at Google as a Software Developer.
I achieved a 1st-class honors in my degree and was honoured with the Edward Wright Prize from my college for the best independent research work. During my long vacations, I have completed internships in both research and industry, including a summer research project at Oxford and an internship at BlackRock.
At A-Level, I achieved A* grades in four subjects: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Outside of my studies, I enjoy a variety of sports, including badminton, chess, and cricket. Recently, I played in the Badminton Varsity Match against Cambridge, where we emerged victorious!
I have tutored for well over 300 hours, working with a diverse range of students from pre-GCSE to A-Level to University applications. The subjects I have tutored include Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics. I have also prepared students for the Mathematics Olympiad, providing both one-on-one and group sessions. During high school, I was selected as one of the top 30 students in India for the International Mathematics Olympiad Training Camp, an experience that has greatly enhanced my ability to guide various students. Additionally, I have mentored students through the Oxford application process, assisting with personal statements and conducting mock interviews.
I strongly believe in developing a deep understanding of any topic, which is the cornerstone of my tutoring style. I adapt my teaching methods to meet the individual needs of my students, ensuring their comprehension of foundational content is solid. I also believe in interactive learning; my lessons are always a dynamic exchange between me and my students.
