PhDin History - University of Cambridge

Rebecca

I graduated with double first-class honours in History from Cambridge. Having completed my further master’s in History at the University, I am now undertaking a PhD, specialising in Modern British History. I’m therefore well equipped to offer insights into Cambridge’s approach to applications and can offer an insiders perspective on selecting colleges and courses. In my spare time I’m involved in the university’s student-run think tank ‘The Wilberforce Society’, and previously acted as President of the Women in Business society.

Before mentoring with Doxa I provided informal advice at my secondary school for students considering applying to Oxbridge, for instance by attending University Fairs on behalf of my college. Tutoring more formally has allowed me to build on this passion for helping students achieve their full potential. From experience I know that advice regarding applications can be unclear, confusing and sometimes contradictory; instead, I aim to ensure that the process is as rewarding and enjoyable as possible.
