Max - Oxford

MEng in Engineering - University of Oxford

Hi, I’m Max! I graduated from Oxford in 2022 after studying Engineering. After finishing my undergraduate course I started my PhD in Engineering in 2023, where I began researching and developing Hydrogen Turbine Engine Technology. I started tutoring because, just like my predecessors in academia, I am passionate about passing on my knowledge and education to future students in order to continue developing the next generation of scientists.

I focus on Oxbridge application tutoring and tutoring of Maths, Further Maths and Physics A-Levels (as well as all STEM A-Levels). Currently during my PhD and after my undergraduate at Oxford, I have worked alongside many professors across multiple disciplines and believe that I have gathered a strong understanding of the characteristics and qualities that are sought out in the ideal candidate.

Drawing upon this experience, my teaching adopts two approaches. The first is to ensure that any student has a strong enough grounding in the basic principles of any topic that allows them to be able to answer more complex questions that require more than simply memorising a solution method or written answer.

The second half of my teaching style attempts to improve the response style of a student. This is to ensure that the student can engage well with an interviewer (or teacher) and properly communicate their ideas in a manner that allows their knowledge and understanding to shine through to the interviewer and put the best version of a student on display.

If you need any support with your Oxbridge application, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am always happy to help.
