My name is Charlotte, and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Oxford. I read Materials Science, and have performed well in preliminary examinations.
In 2020 I applied to study Materials Science at five Universities: Oxford, Imperial, Manchester, Birmingham and St Andrews. I was successful in all of these applications, and therefore know what students need to do in order to secure offers from these universities and other leading institutions.
Tutorials and mentoring delivered by me are focused on generating understanding and helping students cultivate independent intellectual skills. I encourage students to explain their thought processes for every question, paying great attention to detail, and applying their knowledge in the most effective way possible. I help students to prepare for university interviews and learning by promoting conversations around topics and questions, allowing the student to explore and expand their knowledge, and guiding by example.
Communication is key, especially in a tutorial or interview. Therefore, I place a special focus on allowing students time to improve their communication skills and confidence when answering questions and learning how to best articulate their ideas.
