I am a first year MSci student at UCL's Bartlett, studying Development Administration and Planning with a special focus on sustainable development and political economy. I recently graduated with a BA in Politics, also from UCL. During the second year of my bachelor studies, I was a transition mentor for incoming 1st years; I held individual and group meetings during which students could inquire about module selection or assessment guidance. Later, I turned to 1:1 language tutoring, both online and in-person, with students from various age groups. I enjoy thinking outside of the box, and not looking only at what is offered by the admissions, examiner or course, but what can be offered by the student.

Having attended many academic and workplace mentoring sessions myself, I was able to observe my growth, step by step. I believe each individual can achieve wholesome and strong growth by understanding their progress and setting up a pathway of goals. When I think back at my application process, there was so much I wasn't aware of - the living arrangements, what resources does the university offer? Trying to convince an absolute stranger that you're the brightest star in their sky of applicants, on top convincing yourself that a certain college or course is the best option for you can indeed be a difficult process. Having gone through it twice, I am ready to pass my experiences on to future decision makers.
