BA History & English - Columbia University | PhD Political Theory - University of Chicago
I am a third-year PhD student at the Committee on Social Thought at the University of Chicago, a uniquely interdisciplinary program where I study political theory and educational philosophy. My dissertation examines the role of education for leadership in democratic societies with a focus on the nineteenth-century United States.
Born in Malawi and raised in Mozambique, I completed my undergraduate studies in English and History at Columbia University in New York City, whence I graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude in 2015. I enjoy football (soccer), theology, poetry, and debate and I am passionate about helping fellow lovers of the humanities pursue excellence in higher education.
