Hello!
My name is Jan. I studied Physics at the University of Oxford . I completed a four year long integrated masters in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics and graduated with a first. Currently, I am applying to become a Quantitative Trader.
I have successfully been tutoring people since 2020. Plenty of them were people whose first language was not English, so I have a great deal of experience with teaching and explaining new concepts via a person’s second language. Having always performed excellently during my university examinations already early on I realized what makes studying and applying to Oxford and Cambridge distinct from other University experiences. I would like to pass on that knowledge to other people and give them the best possible advice so that they themselves can
succeed.
I believe that one of the key elements of the Oxbridge application process is the interview. Specifically, most students encounter it for the first time in their lives, therefore they are not used to that format of examination. Therefore, one of my main aims is to prepare the student for th is experience by teaching the m the ability to think, learn and discover on their own. This is how studying at both Oxford and Cambridge looks like. One has to be able to both work on one’s own as well as interact well with the university tutors.
I would like to teach the students how to respond well in an interview, know how to interact with a university tutor and most importantly, how to communicate one’s own ideas and thoughts in a logical and coherent manner. I myself have also received tutoring in the past, so I know how it feels to be on both sides.
Outside of physics, I am interested in all kinds of arts and languages.
I am here to help you whether you would like to apply to a top university, ace your A levels/GCSE or understand better the physics of the world around us!
