Hi! My name is Georgia, and I am a current 2nd year undergraduate studying Law at the University of Cambridge. I have been mentoring for two years now, and have helped students to achieve places at both Oxbridge and Russell Group universities. My approach to mentoring is centred around a passion for helping prospective applicants to achieve their potential. The admissions process is notoriously complex, and having someone who has been through it themselves recently can be valuable to provide insight into how to approach each stage of it.
I deliver advice and skills sessions for every stage of the admissions process, including personal statements, admissions tests and interviews, as well as delivering mock 'supervisions' to give students examples of what Oxbridge teaching is like.
I have worked closely with both the careers department at my sixth form, and the admissions department at my university, delivering Q&A sessions about the application process, as well as reviewing personal statements and giving advice regarding interviews. This has given me a lot of experience working with students from many different backgrounds and of many different levels of attainment, meaning that I am able to adjust the sessions I deliver depending on the stage of each prospective applicant and what they will find most beneficial.
I achieved a 2.1 in my first year of university. At A-Level, I studied English Literature (A*), Sociology (A*), French (B) and German (B), and I was offered a place at every university that I applied to, including receiving two unconditional offers. I achieved 10 GCSEs, all grade 7 and above.
I have mentored prospective university applicants for two years, delivering weekly sessions targeted at the admissions process for university, with a particular focus on students applying to Oxbridge. I have also worked with my sixth form's careers department and the admissions department at university to deliver further advice to students, and I offered a personal statement checking service.
