Ayla - Yale
BA in History - Yale University
Hi, my name is Ayla and I graduated with a distinction in History from Yale University (’21). My track within the major was Empires and Colonialism.
At Yale, I undertook a range of courses within the History department which focused on the trajectory, and anthropology of power in the Global South, particularly in Asia and Africa. As an aspiring filmmaker interested in screenwriting and directing narrative film and television, I also extensively undertook Film and Media Studies, English Literature and Language courses during my time there.
I am well suited to prepare students for a broad range of courses across the Humanities, as well as prepare them for their college applications.
I completed by high school education at Karachi Grammar School in Pakistan, which is home for me. When applying to university I was accepted to highly competitive schools in the US and UK, including Yale, Brown, UChicago, Berkeley, LSE, Warwick and others.
I’m a dedicated, highly organized and creative tutor committed to working with your academic, intellectual and personal curiosities. I believe in a multidisciplinary and engaged practice, and hope that we can learn and grow together by combining different media, and forms of knowledge.
