Having navigated through the Oxford and Cambridge application processes, I know how complex the system is. It’s often hard to know what you’re being assessed on and where to focus your efforts: how do you show that you’re a good research prospect, not just an able Classicist?

This is where talking to someone with ground-level experience can help. I’ve got to know both institutions over five years of study and can help you tailor your application to get the best chance of a place and funding. The three pillars of an impressive graduate application are the research proposal, the submission of written work and (in some cases) the interview. I’m equally happy working with all three: every candidate will have a different focus and I’ll take a tailored approach.

A little about me: my primary research interests are Hellenistic Poetry and Greek comedy, but my undergraduate work covered Greek and Roman literature, ancient philosophy and a touch of history. I’m now training as a barrister, but I’m keeping my Greek up through tutoring. Most recently, I tutored a mature student through the Cambridge MPhil admissions process.

In my free time, I like to read good books, watch bad TV, and lift heavy things.
