MSc Physics - University of Oxford

Hi! I'm a third-year Physics Undergraduate at Oxford. I absolutely love physics and have spent the last two-three years learning everything from quantum mechanics and how electricity works to the solar system and the formation of black holes. This summer, I was at California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in the US for a 10-week research project in astrophysics, where I studied the explosions of intergalactic stars-- this experience exposed me to hundreds of talented and motivated physicists from all around the world. One of the highlights of my academic experience at Oxford is consistently ranking in the top 5% of my cohort and receiving several awards for academic excellence.

I am the first person from my high school in India to ever go to Oxbridge. I ranked first in Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science, scoring an average of 98% across my five courses (the other two were Chemistry and English).

Outside of physics, I enjoy programming and learning about Artificial Intelligence, having done an 8-week online course about the mathematics of AI. I also love reading about biochemistry, philosophy and economics. My passion for science inspired me to found the first independant science society in my hometown. I'm a jazz dancer, a badminton player, and an avid traveller-- my journeys have taken me everywhere from ice-cold lakes in the Himalayas to beautifully sunny farms in California!

I have over 100 hours of experience tutoring Physics at the GCSE and University level, alongside providing interview support for Chinese and British students applying to universities in the UK. I spent a summer remotely teaching Japanese students at the Global English Camp and have worked part-time at UniAdmissions, leading a team of 20 ambassadors helping 200+ high schoolers with their university applications.

My teaching style emphasises a two-way communication between the student and myself. I strongly feel that a good session is one that feels less like a lecture and more like a discussion-- filled with questions, commentary and critique. I remain flexible and adapt myself to the specific needs of each students. Most importantly, I try to make my session as enjoyable as I can! If I can make a student thrilled about physics the way that I am, then I have done my duty!
