Rebecca - Cambridge

MSc - Natural Sciences

Hello! I recently graduated with an integrated Masters degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, in which I specialised in Chemistry and achieved First Class honours. In my fourth year I completed a research project focusing on biological chemistry. I started out by taking a lot of biological subjects too, so I would say I have definitely made the most of the interdisciplinary nature of the course. This has put me in a good position to provide support in preparing an application to the University, and I really enjoy helping students to discover and explore their own academic interests!
I achieved 2A*s and 2As at A Level in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and French, and alongside my A levels I completed an IB certificate in Italian, achieving a level 6. At GCSE I achieved 9As and 3As. Aside from academics I enjoy travelling, playing tennis and baking.

I have over 150 hours of experience in supporting both GCSE and A Level students with Biology and Chemistry, and several with their successful applications to Cambridge. The three students I mentored for 2022 entry all recieved offers from their chosen colleges. I find that students learn best from an enthusiastic and encouraging mentor who can relate new material to familiar concepts and ideas. By identifying areas that the student already feels comfortable with and those with which they would like some assistance, I have a very personal approach to teaching and find it very rewarding!
