MSc Chemistry - University of Oxford

I'm currently studying Chemistry at the University of Oxford and have extensive experience in tutoring Chemistry and Mathematics for GCSE's, A-Levels, IB but I also prepare students for Oxbridge admissions.

I have prepared students from both the UK and China for Oxbridge interviews simulating the environment of a real interview

  • Led reading and supra-curriculars building sessions based on the student's experience suggesting how to improve the CV for Oxbridge applications

  • Taught one to one and groups exam topics for GCSE and A-Levels preparing both lessons (framed on the curriculum) and worked on past paper questions

  • Built interactive teaching sessions and designed exercises for non-native English children in care houses

I teach exam topics in an interactive way building the sessions based on the topics where one struggles. The idea is to tailor the session as a discussion in which the student talks through the understanding of the topic and, if this is the case, any errors are reviewed. The aim is to deliver any new topics based on the foundations the student has already got. The theoretical concepts we learn or revise will be exercised using past paper questions giving an idea for the approach of the topic in an exam.

With the interview preparation, I encourage my students to to always think about the basic concepts from which they can develop their ideas for the more complex questions, hence boosting their confidence. Each session is adapted to one's needs and the teaching plan is always flexible.
