Hello! I’m currently completing an MA in Media, Communications, and Critical Practice, at University of the Arts London which I am due to finish in December. Prior to my university degrees I gained experience in teaching and supporting students in the English language, where I developed a good understanding of how to assist in this dynamic sector.
Throughout my MA program, I have been immersed in a stimulating learning environment that offers a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application. This combination has been invaluable in preparing me to navigate the professional landscape soon. By engaging with both theory and practice-based work, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and honed my critical thinking and analytical skills.
Prior to pursuing my MA, I had the opportunity to teach English at a school and provide private tutoring in Martinique, a French-speaking island. This experience spanned six months and allowed me to cultivate valuable skills in supporting students and employing effective teaching methods, both in one-on-one settings and groups. These experiences highlighted my ability to adapt my teaching style to meet the unique needs and learning styles of individual students, fostering an inclusive and conducive learning environment.
Overall, my MA program and teaching experiences, have shaped my approach to mentoring and tutoring. I am committed to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment while tailoring my instruction to the specific needs of each person. Through my experience I trust that I will contribute positively to the learning journey of those I mentor and tutor.
