BA in Theology, Religion and Philosophy of Religion- University of Cambridge

I am an incoming M.A. in International Affairs student at Columbia University. I recently obtained a B.A. in Theology, Religion, and the Philosophy of Religion from the University of Cambridge, achieving a Double First Class with Distinction. I was appointed a Robert Johnson Scholar of Sidney Sussex College and won the Faculty of Divinity's Theological Studies Prize twice. Prior to this, I studied the International Baccalaureate and achieved 45/45 points. I have over 300 hours of tutoring experience in the IB and Oxbridge admissions, accumulated over the past three years.

My areas of specialization are Economics, English, History, and Religious Studies, particularly in IB, although I also have experience of tutoring students at GCSE level and below. I have considerable experience supporting students with their personal statements and the Oxbridge examination and interview process.

The core tenets of my tutoring style are: student-centred, dynamic, and confidence-boosting. My students’ study programmes are guided by discussions we have at the outset about which areas they are most comfortable with and which areas they feel they need extra support in, and I frequently check in on this over the course of the lessons and adjust accordingly. My past students have found me approachable, engaging, and able to efficiently and clearly explain key concepts and ideas. I use a combination of guided comprehensive notes and past paper questions in my lessons. These strategies help my students consolidate their knowledge and improve their exam technique and confidence, all of which are critical elements for excelling in exams.
