James - Oxford
BA in History - University of Oxford
I am a recent graduate of BA in History from St Edmund Hall, Oxford, and have previously assisted and advised students with applications to Oxford and Cambridge. My aim is to help students make informed, wise choices regarding their preferred university and college, and to guide them through the complex process that is an Oxbridge application.
From studying formal qualifications in history, journalism and now law, my passion is for both the written word and compelling oral argument - both of which are essential to a successful Oxbridge application. My aim is to help prospective applicants think, argue and present ideas in a clear and succinct manner, and to learn to digest and explain material at short notice.
In addition, I can help applicants with interview preparation, and the Historical Aptitude Test, in which I scored a 70 (an above-average score for those offered places to read History). I believe a successful student has to demonstrate their passion and knowledge of their chosen subject, analytical ability, and excellent written and verbal communication.
Alongside tutoring, I currently work in a law firm and am in the process of qualifying as a solicitor.
