BA in Biology - University of Oxford

Hi! I'm Fred, and I study Biology at The Queen's College, Oxford. Here, I have just completed my third year and next year, I will undertake a fourth-year research project specialising in bioinformatics where I will receive an MBiol upon completion. I am passionate about helping students to achieve their goal of successfully getting into Oxbridge for Biology (and related subjects) and can guide students through this process.

At Oxford, I am a Vincent's Club Scholar, awarded for simultaneous excellence in both sport and academics. Whilst at school, I also attained multiple academic achievement prizes after my A-Levels where I achieved 3A*'s (Biology, Chemistry, and History) and an A (Maths) as well as for my GCSEs where obtained 10A*'s and 2As. Aside from my academics, I am a senior international hockey player (for Wales) and also have three Oxford Blues (for hockey).

I have a long history of tutoring and mentorship with students aged 11 to 18. I strive to challenge my students consistently to think beyond the course, in a way that is tailored to the specific requirements for each student. Through my mentorship, I facilitate students to engage with the subject to find interests that go beyond the classroom which makes my lessons both interesting, but also highly impactful resulting in overall success in the form of good grades. Ultimately, I am friendly guide who will get the best out of all students wishing to achieve excellence.
