Ethan - Cambridge

PhD - Physics

Hi! I'm Ethan, a Physics DPhil at Oxford, who graduated from Cambridge with a BA & MSci in Natural Sciences (Physics) in 2023. I have substantial experience teaching Maths and Physics for ages 14-18, covering topics from GCSE all the way to Olympiads and Oxbridge admissions. I have a track record of top grades, including 10A *s at GCSE, 4 A *s at A-Level, and two first-class Cambridge degrees, and also drawn upon my experience as a former BPhO marker.

In my lessons, I make sure to provide a variety of explanations for all the different topics until it "clicks". I promote good problem-solving and interview skills in every session. My students make great progress in every lesson towards being able to solve exam questions, think about technical subjects, and communicate their methods clearly. I draw upon the Oxbridge tutorial/supervision model in my teaching style and seek to deepen the student's understanding in a way adapted to their particular needs and interests. Tutoring is fundamentally about generating intellectual understanding, and in so doing, enabling the student to be an original, creative and independent thinker. My substantial experience includes support for interview preparation, personal statements, 16+ entrance tests, and Olympiads.

If you have any questions about my experience, please feel free to contact me at support@doxa.co.uk
