BA in Geography | MSc Natural Sciences - University of Cambridge
I’ve just finished my Bachelor’s in Geography at Cambridge, in which I received a first class, alongside a number of college and university prizes. I’m staying at Cambridge for another year, now reading for a Master’s in Natural Sciences, specialising in History and Philosophy of Science.
I began tutoring in 2019 when volunteering to tutor state-comprehensive students in their university applications. By engaging my students in a dynamic series of online sessions to assist in their applications and interviews, in which I assessed personal statements, delivered mock interviews, and gave personal insights, they were successful in their applications to Oxford and Cambridge. I’ve continued tutoring students looking to attend top universities, and whether the tutoring has been formal or informal, I’ve had a great time doing so.
I’m also well placed to tutor human geography at A-Level, IB, or GCSE, having taught multiple students who have gone on to receive top grades – but I’m also comfortable with physical geography, as well as allied subjects like history, politics, or even geology. Given the interdisciplinary nature of geography, I’ve developed strong quantitative and qualitative skills and my 75+ hours of experience as a tutor has meant that I can confidently deliver exciting yet academically rigorous sessions.
I also like to ensure that my students feel supported in their sessions, which is why I offer personal support as well as academic support in my sessions, something best summarised by one of my first students: “you helped so much with my personal statement and with my confidence.”
Prior to university, I received A*s in Geography and Government & Politics, receiving the highest marks in my cohort, as well as an A in Mathematics. At GCSE, I received 2A*s and 8As.
