Hello! My name is Elia, and I am a recent graduate from the University of Cambridge, where I spent four enriching years studying French and History. My academic journey also included an incredible Year Abroad in the French Caribbean island of Martinique, a unique experience that deepened my understanding of both the language and culture.
At A Level, I achieved A* grades in French, History, and Sociology, reflecting my dedication and passion for these subjects. My academic interests are particularly focused on colonial history and French film, areas in which I am eager to continue exploring and researching.
For the past two years, I have been a virtual Cambridge Mentor, providing guidance and support to AS and A-Level students in their university application process. This role has allowed me to share my knowledge and experiences, helping students navigate the challenges of applying to higher education.
In addition to mentoring, I have experience teaching English as a foreign language and tutoring online, which has further honed my teaching skills and ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. I am also DBS Enhanced Checked as of November 2023, ensuring the highest standards of safety and trust in my educational endeavors.
Outside of my professional and academic pursuits, I have a passion for the arts. I enjoy filming on film sets, immersing myself in the creative process of filmmaking. Reading is another one of my favorite pastimes, as it allows me to explore new worlds and ideas. Additionally, I love discovering new music, constantly expanding my auditory horizons.
With a strong academic background, a commitment to mentoring and teaching, and a range of personal interests, I am excited about the future and the opportunities to continue growing and contributing to my fields of interest.
