Dylan - Oxford
DPhil in Biochemistry | MBiochem in Biochemistry - University of Oxford
I am a Computational Biochemistry DPhil student at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford, having recently completed an MBiochem degree, also at Oxford. My specific interests and strengths are molecular modelling, structural biology, biomedical informatics, and deep learning with a particular focus on developing binding affinity and antimicrobial resistance prediction algorithms and software. My Master's thesis was titled 'Combining structural biology and machine learning to predict resistance against rifampicin and ethambutol in Mycobacterium tuberculosis'.
I am a Mathematics and Statistics Tutor at Oxford, and am also a Junior Dean at Queen's College. Furthermore, with extensive experience in application and subject mentoring, and having gained experience in the fields of innate immunology, microbiology, biomedical data science, drug discovery, and molecular diagnostics, as well as having successfully applied for a range of PhD positions worldwide, I believe I am in a strong position to help, educate, and inspire prospective students in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, and biophysics.
