Hi, I’m Cora! I am a PhD student in Economics at the University of Warwick, where I focus on economic history and political economy. I recently graduated from the University of Oxford (St Antony’s College) with an MPhil in Russian and East European Studies. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where I was a member of the Huntsman Program, through which I earned a BSc in Economics (Wharton School) and a BA in History and International Studies (College of Arts and Sciences). Outside my academic studies, I have worked for BCG and the German Foreign Office. In my free time, I am a keen marathon runner and travel enthusiast.
I have experience teaching a range of subjects, from human rights law to finance, but my favourite subjects to teach are Microeconomics and Statistics. Over the past six years, I have taught at various institutions, including Wharton, Oxford, and Warwick, where I was delighted to receive a university-wide Award for Teaching Excellence in 2020. Right now, I am an associate lecturer at the Open University teaching third-year Microeconomics.
My teaching style focuses on the intuition behind key concepts and discussing them critically. I aim to create an open, friendly space where questions are highly encouraged, and any concepts studied are tied into a bigger picture. Having gone through the application process at both Oxford and Ivy League universities, I can support you with all stages of the application, including personal statements, admission tests, and interview preparation.
