Hello, my name is Arran and I have recently graduated from the University of Cambridge with a First Class degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences, achieving first-class marks in all my final year papers. During my degree, I undertook a range of modules across Politics and Sociology, including British and European Politics, Social Theory, Comparative Government and Modern Capitalism. This means I am ideally suited to prepare students for a broad range of courses across the Social Sciences such as HSPS at Cambridge and PPE at Oxford.
In my A-Levels, I achieved A* grades in History and Economics as well as an A grade in Mathematics. I also achieved a grade A in AS-level Chemistry. I scored almost full marks across my A-Level in History. I received admission to a number of highly competitive courses as well as Cambridge such as Economics and Government at the LSE and Economics at the University of Warwick.
I have extensive experience preparing students for entrance to courses at Oxbridge and other top Russel Group universities as both a private tutor and an access mentor at Cambridge, assisting with personal statements, interview preparation and admissions tests. Moreover, I served as one of the Student Union's Access Officers during my time at Cambridge, meaning I have a keen sense of the exact skills admissions tutors are looking for. I'm an extremely involved and hands-on tutor - I work to supplement students’ own academic interests and work with them, to present these in the form top universities like to see.
