MChem in Chemistry - University of Oxford
I graduated from Oxford with a First-Class Master’s degree in Chemistry (MChem) in 2019. Prior to university, I studied for A-Levels in Maths, Chemistry, and Physics, achieving 3 A*s. During my time at Oxford, I volunteered in a local school, teaching science to small groups of students at GCSE level, and have since conducted regular one-to-one tuition with A-Level Chemistry students.
With my tuition, I look to identify the ways in which the student thinks about problems and adapt my teaching in order to best address difficulties and new topics. Chemistry is often about recognising patterns and I aim to get the student to understand these at a fundamental level so that they can apply them to unseen problems with confidence, incorporating visual learning. Comfort with this style of thinking lends itself to success with the one-to-one, problem-solving teaching style used at Oxbridge.
Outside of teaching I enjoy cooking, going to the gym, and also traveling, which I have been able to do in my time off since graduating.
