Danny - Cambridge

MSc Physics - University of Cambridge

I have recently graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Master's in Astrophysics after receiving my bachelors in Physics the previous year. My masters focussed on using various computational techniques on high resolution spectra to determine the detectability of exoplanets currently undiscovered due to detection biases.

My method for teaching involves encouraging the students to be self-sufficient, guiding them through problems rather than having them rote learn solutions. When applying for top universities, it is crucial for students to possess advanced problem-solving skills. These skills are nurtured when students actively engage in problem-solving themselves. Therefore, at the end of a lesson, students should not only be able to solve a question but also explain their underlying thought process, preparing students for interviews.

I completed my A-Levels at Kings College London Mathematics School (KCLMS), a top specialist Maths sixth form where I achieved 3 A* s in Physics, Maths, and Further Maths, which are the subjects I tutor for A-Level and GCSE. I enjoy working with and have several years of experience with students who are applying to study Natural Sciences or Physics at university. I offer support in crafting unique and compelling personal statements; preparing students for the PAT and NSAA; and improving their problem-solving skills for mock and real interviews.
