MPhys in Physics - University of Oxford

I am a recent Physics graduate from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. My masters focused on using machine learning and computational models to improve virus testing, specifically for COVID. I have been tutoring, both online and in person, for over 5 years. I have taught mathematics and physics at all levels, with my students taking their 11+, GCSE’s, A-levels, and university admissions tests.

My method for teaching involves encouraging the students to be self-sufficient, guiding them through problems without spoon feeding them the answer. The application process for top universities in these subjects requires high-level problem-solving skills - skills which are developed in students when they work through problems themselves. Students should finish a lesson with the ability not only to complete a question but also to explain the thought process involved.

I took Physics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Spanish at A-Level and received 3 A stars and 1 A. Outside of my studies I am a keen musician and sportsman.

I have been a private academic tutor for over 5 years and I have also worked as a music tutor and sailing instructor. Teaching has always been something I have found rewarding and exciting, as no two students or lessons are the same. I am passionate about my subject and love helping to make others passionate about it as well.
