I am a current Mathematics & Economics student at the LSE. I have over 3 years of experience tutoring Maths and am very passionate about tutoring and mentoring students from all backgrounds to pursuing higher education and giving them the support and knowledge needed to do so. Prior to university, I completed my A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry, and an EPQ on the topic of global wealth inequality.

I have experience delivering interactive virtual lessons on various virtual platforms including Zoom, Teams, Vedemo and WebEx.
I completed my EPQ (A*) on the topic of global wealth inequality (macroeconomics) which inspired me to pursue Mathematics & Economics at University level; combining my interest in pure maths to the applications in the real world and finance.

I have been a private Maths Tutor for 3+ years and worked with over 10 students at 11+, KS3, GCSE and A-Level. Students went on to achieve at least 2 grades higher than expected in their respective exams. Sessions involved one-on-one tutoring- initially assessing students’ abilities through mock exams and then creating lesson plans and interactive resources to target key areas specific to each student.

For the past year, I have been a Lead Mentor at Debate Mate which is an educational charity delivering debating sessions to schools with an above-average percentage of students on Free School Meals. Sessions aim to increase students' speaking and listening skills and improve their confidence and leadership through interactive activities. The main goal is to raise aspirations and inspire students to pursue a higher-level university education. Leading my team of mentors gave me increased exposure to teachers and staff within schools which allowed me to closely monitor the effectiveness of sessions and how to tailor them to each individual’s needs.

I am also a Widening Participation Maths Tutor with my university-tutoring students from schools in low socioeconomic areas. My 2 main responsibilities with this role are to deliver weekly interactive maths sessions via the virtual Vedamo platform and mentor students by sharing my own experiences of progressing to University and giving them advice tailored to their own education and career goals.

Through all my experiences I have been able to adapt my teaching methods to students of all abilities, including students with minor learning difficulties. I have created extensive resources including activity sheets, topic-specific exam papers, and presentations tailored to students’ needs and difficulties which I will be able to utilise.
