Hello! My name is Shuowang and I am a full-time tutor with a Master's degree in Engineering from King's College, Cambridge. My final year specialisation was in data science and machine learning, and I achieved a first-class result in my master’s thesis focused on Engineering design.
Since graduating university, I've been tutoring full-time online as well as home-tutoring for families. My teaching experience has mainly focused on maths, natural sciences, engineering, and computing, however, I am also teaching English to younger Chinese students as well as application support and interview practice for top universities. I've designed structured syllabuses and handouts for my students to help them reach their specific goals; whether it's to ace a mock, prep for an interview, or just to reinforce their school lessons due to the undesirable situation with the pandemic. My tutoring style is dynamic, interactive, and highly student-focused; and I always tailor my teaching to each individual student.
My approach to teaching itself is to break complicated concepts down to be simple, relatable, and memorable. The goal is to provide my students with valuable academic skills but to guide them along the path to becoming pro-active, independent students.
