My name is Mario and I graduated with a First Class from the BA Economics and Management at Oxford in 2021. I performed near the top of my class in both Economics and Management courses and received several college and university awards for my work, including the Saïd Foundation Prize for the best performance in Global Business History. I am close to the completion of my MSc in Statistics from ETH Zurich and am currently conducting research in computational neuroscience with the Carhart-Harris lab at the University of California, San Francisco. I have been invited to lecture at Oxford with Prof. Chris McKenna and am a passionate tutor and mentor, having tutored for over seven years. I also worked with educators and education researchers from Harvard, the UN, and UNICEF in a professional context.

I believe that entrance to Oxbridge requires a holistic understanding of what tutors are looking for and an equally holistic preparation. I do not teach any student what to think, but rather how to think about problems in Economics or Management. While targeted preparation for entrance exams or interviews, for example, is crucial, I believe that the strongest applicants shine through a genuine interest in and aptitude for the subject. I am looking forward to getting to know you, learn about your interests, and support you in your journey to Oxbridge!

I started tutoring children (between the age of 6-18) over five years ago and found a lot of joy in working with students from very different backgrounds and learning about educational theory. During my civil service in Austria, I tutored children with migrant background full-time for nine months. In both a tutoring and a professional context, I worked with teachers and educational researchers because I grew fascinated with the question of what quality education is. In 2018, I initiated and organized the Interchange the World Convention, a conference to discuss the future of education with leading education researchers from around the world. Most recently, I have been focusing primarily on Oxbridge entrance tutoring and I have seen very diverse interview processes over the years.
