Hi, I’m Jali! I am an MPA Candidate at Columbia University, majoring in Data Science and Urban Policy. Prior to Columbia, I spent 4 years at McKinsey, as a Senior Associate in London and Research Fellow at McKinsey Global Institute in Sydney. I was concurrently a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Urban Science & Progress, King's College London. I hold an MSc (Distinction) in Behaviour Change from UCL and a Double First in Psychological & Behavioural Sciences (BA Hons) from the University of Cambridge.
I’ve tutored on a part-time basis since 2016, offering Oxbridge admissions support through mock interviews, application support and admissions test mentoring. My primary aim when tutoring is always to ensure a personalized approach, focusing on the strengths and weaknesses of each student to help them achieve their full potential. I have thoroughly enjoyed my academic journey and want to make the most of this positive experience to encourage students to enjoy learning and become passionate about their subjects. Most recently, I have been supporting 3-5 students per year with their applications to Psychology courses at Oxbridge. In the past few years, my success rate has been 100%, with all students I supported receiving offers from Oxbridge. At Columbia, I am a Teaching Assistant for Advanced Econometrics, and so also have experience teaching statistics and economics to A-Level, undergraduate, and graduate students.
I can also provide application support for graduate schemes and for job applications, and have extensive experience in coaching for consulting case interviews and helping candidates build their presentation skills, analytical skills and interview confidence. In my free-time I enjoy sailing, cycling and exploring New York.
