I received a UK Bachelor of Arts in Education, Psychology and Learning from the University of Cambridge, having written my Final Year Dissertation on Exploring Hong Kong students’ negotiation of linguistic identities.

I have researched and designed bespoke Wellbeing and university transition programs for Chinese pupils looking to study overseas, designed schemes of work for academic extension courses in Psychology to stimulate critical thinking and introduce pupils to university-level studies and completed Educare CPD training in Safeguarding, Mental Wellbeing and Preventing Bullying for International Schools.

I have mentored a Year Eight Chinese Speaking ESL student once a week for 2 school terms to improve confidence in spoken English, while also providing literacy and homework support and aiding transition into life in the U.K.

I led a weekly after-school club for more than 20 Year Seven students to increase interest in History and develop research and debating skills and organised and delivered English language immersion camps for students aged 5-17 from underperforming schools. Additionally, I have devised interactive curriculum materials for phonics and grammar lessons, delivered small group lessons and individual sessions with students to facilitate quick uptake of spoken English pronunciation and vocabulary and team lead for monitoring and evaluation processes including assessed activities and providing strategies to improve students’ experience.

I have represented the University of Cambridge at open days and outreach events; coordinated lectures with 300+ students, delivered talks on admissions and general university life to 150+ students and provided guided campus tours to small groups.

I also mentored four students from disadvantaged backgrounds to support applications to competitive UK universities; supported students to research universities and courses, draft personal statements and prepare for overseas university studies, including conducting regular Skype sessions with mentees to improve confidence in spoken English and practice interview skills.
