PhD in Land Economy - University of Cambridge | MPhil in Development Studies - University of Oxford
I am a PhD student in Land Economy at the University of Cambridge and hold an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Oxford and a BSc in Real Estate from the Copperbelt University. I have ten academic excellence prizes and scholarship awards, as well as conference awards for best presenter. My current research explores informal housing markets and investigates strategies employed by low-income households in accessing housing in urban areas. I have also undertaken research projects for the World Bank, London School of Economics, the United Nations, and the US Agency for International Development. I have extensive teaching experience at undergraduate level and supervision at the master’s level.
I have taught undergraduate courses for more than four years. My work included developing syllabi and course content and designing lesson plans. These were for first year and final year students. In addition, I offered supervision to students in their assignments and held one-on-one sessions to provide further guidance where needed.
Further, I have supervised undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations. This involved developing a research topic, refining the idea, formulating research questions, conducting literature reviews, designing data collection tools, and guiding the students through the writing process to completion.
In addition to teaching, I have also mentored students for admission into UK universities and volunteer on selection committees for postgraduate scholarships for study in the UK.
