Moving from year 12 to uni is a transition that takes time and effort. Louis at Doxa recommended Nathanael who proved an outstanding mentor and role model while our son was undergoing this transition. His tutoring was at an intellectual level that suited our son; pitching challenges in ways that made them seem more achievable, identifying gaps in in his learning, building his confidence at each step and enjoying shared interests in biosciences. One of my classmates recommended Doxa to me when I was applying for Cambridge. In Doxa, I had several sessions with a chemistry mentor (Rebecca) and a physics mentor (Jacob). We mainly talked about some interview-style questions in the sessions. They were really nice and patient. What I especially appreciated was their high scientific literacy.
We used this service for training our students to strengthen their interview skills. I was so impressed with results that I shall be sending my own son to help him in his interviews to 6th form. I cannot recommend the team highly enough.
The mock interviews helped greatly in preparing me for the real Oxford interview. I was given detailed feedback and an hour-long Skype conversation to go over the feedback at length. The preparation guided me in deciding which ideas I should develop for the interview and helped me focus on my weaker areas. After the mock interviews, I felt that the real interview was much simpler than expected and I was able to go in with confidence. Would definitely recommend!

The interview training was great; I was surprised how useful it was and how much there was to know. The general pointers really made the difference as well as the actual mock interview. Feedback was great too and helped me know where to focus. Made me feel much more comfortable going into my actual interview; it helped incredibly with building confidence.
Knowing how to structure arguments and speak clearly was something I hadn't thought about much prior to speaking to Kes and James. However, I realised its importance in the actual interview and was glad I had prepared. Overall, really recommend and wish these guys the best of luck! Even though I’m not preparing for a school entrance I used this to increase my skills for the future. The interviewers’ questions challenged me, to begin with, I was a little irritated but that’s because I was having to think through my answers. The main thing I took away from this is to stay with my convictions. I was being gently pushed to see if I could back up my arguments. When I saw the report afterwards I understood why I was being challenged. It’s really changed how I would conduct myself in an interview situation now. I think everyone should have access to this.
Great company, my son really benefited from his session.
