BFA in Fine Art - University of Oxford
Hello, my name is Helena and I have just graduated from my final year on the BFA Fine Art course at the University of Oxford with First Class Honours. Over my time at Oxford I have been an Access Officer for my college and part of its Student Ambassador programme, helping students from diverse backgrounds feel able to apply to Oxbridge. I am an Open Exhibition recipient for academic achievement, Buttery Bursary recipient for positive contribution to my college and a Santander Scholar for financial aid.
Before my degree at Oxford, I completed a BTEC foundation diploma at The Northern School of Art in which I achieved a distinction grade. At sixth form I took AS English Literature, Art and English Language in which I achieved A*, A*, A.
I have multiple years of tutoring experience, with my last tutee starting Oxford this coming year. Whilst at University and during Sixth Form I have tutored students in Secondary School (11+, 13+ and GCSE), Sixth Form and Foundation students. Whilst tutoring for students that are GCSE level and under, I work to aid with creative progression and individual style, learning about contemporary artists and advising on coursework. With Sixth Form students I work closely with them towards application development and preparation for foundation and university courses. Starting with personal statement advise, moving onto portfolio preparation and creation and then working on the run-up to the interview period, each stage of tuition focuses on growing and demonstrating a student’s individuality.
I look forward to working with students and helping them unlock their own creative potential, no matter where that leads them.
